چکیده

Biolubricants may be obtained from vegetable oils using appropriate chemical modifications, to improve their physicochemical properties for lubrication applications. In this study, the esterification of a free fatty acid (FFA) with long chain alcohols was performed sulfonated mesoporous silica as catalyst. Fresh and functionalized MCM-41 samples were prepared evaluate effect sulfonic surface group on reaction. via post-synthesis modification 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (MPTS) silylating agent. The synthesized catalysts characterized several techniques. After functionalization, decrease in apparent area pore diameter observed. MCM-41/SO3H sample applied reaction oleic (as FFA model) two different long-chain (octanol 2-ethylhexanol). catalytic results reveal that catalyst showed excellent conversions (~ 100% mol when octanol > 93% 2-ethylhexanol) selectivities esters (ca. 90%).

Synthesis and characterization of MCM-41-supported Ba2SiO4 base catalyst

A novel MCM-41-supported base catalyst, Ba-MCM-41, was synthesized with a modified impregnation method. Ba2SiO4 was synthesized on the MCM-41 pore wall as confirmed by characterization using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence, N2 adsorption, Si MAS NMR and transmission electron microscopy. It was also demonstrated that a highly ordered Ba-MCM-41 catalyst wit...

Microwave-assisted thioacetalization of carbonyl compounds using Al-MCM-41 as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst

In this project various types of carbonyl compounds were efficiently converted to their corresponding 1,3-oxathiolanes  with 2-mercaptoethanol in the presence of catalytic amount of Al-MCM-41 with microwave energy. The catalyst can be reused several times without loss of its catalytic activity. Very short reaction times, reusability of the catalyst, and easy workup are noteworthy advantages of ...

Synthesis of TMBQ using Cu(II)-substituted MCM-41 as the catalyst

Mesoporous MCM-41 molecular sieves substituted with various amounts of Cu(II) and Al(III) were synthesized by the hydrothermal method. The resultant materials were characterized by XRD, XANES, surface area and pore size measurement, EPR and 27Al solid state NMR. The Cu(II)-substituted MCM-41 was found to be an efficient catalyst in the oxidation of trimethylphenol (TMP) to trimethylbenzoquinone...

New Molybdenum Epoxidation Catalyst Derived From Nanoporous MCM-41 Supported Glycine Schiff-Base

Covalent grafting of the nanoporous molecular sieve MCM-41 with 3- aminopropyl trimethoxysilane and acetyl acetone (acac) successively gave modified MCM-41 (acacAmpMCM-41). Reaction of the resulted material with glycine afforded the corresponding supported glycine Schiff base ligand and subsequent reaction with [bis(acetylacetonato)dioxomolybdenum(VI)] was lead to molybdenum complex suppor...
